Some Interesting Things About Me

  • Having summarized hundreds of depositions, organized thousands of documents for trial, and performed word processing magic on countless legal documents, I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of litigation and transactional legal practice areas.  My RAM is teeming with legal terminology and terms of art.
  • Responsibility for more than 60 secretaries and word processors for a large San Francisco law firm gave me expertise in the business of law in addition to the practice of law. Issues involving strategic planning, business process reengineering, and human resources management made excellent use of both my theater and law degrees.
  • Long before the popularity of the personal computer, I was hired to create a word processing department for an entertainment law firm in New York which had purchased a Redactron (a what??) and hired me to figure out how to utilize it.
  • In the late '60s I made a living strumming and singing my own songs and those of “the J’s” (Joan, Joni, Judy and Janis) under the palm fronds in St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands).
  • I traveled extensively through Europe, the West Indies and Mexico when flying was fun. All cultural differences and similarities were appreciated; most were savored.
  • I always carry something to read, play a good game of Scrabble, and sometimes finish cross-word puzzles.  Though not clinically compulsive, I alphabetize my spices and organize my library according to a loosely-fashioned Dewey Decimal system.
  • I find indexing an ideal vocation. It's intellectually challenging and satisfying to help authors connect with their readers.
